February 27, 2020 (Lanham, MD)—Inc. magazine announced that The Bizzell Group (Bizzell) is No. 128 on its inaugural Inc. 5000 Series: D.C. Metro list for achieving a 95% increase in revenue growth in 2018. The list is the most prestigious ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware. Born of the annual Inc. 5000 franchise, this regional list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the D.C. Metro economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses.

Between 2016 and 2018, these 250 private companies had an average growth rate of 196 percent and, in 2018 alone, they employed over 88,000 people and added $6.5 billion in revenue to the greater D.C. area’s economy. Companies based in the Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Richmond, Virginia, metro areas brought in the highest revenue overall.

Methodology

The 2020 Inc. 5000 Regional Series is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2016 and 2018. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2016. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2018. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2016 is $100,000; the minimum for 2018 is $1 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons.

October 25, 2019 (Lanham, MD) – The Bizzell Group (Bizzell) ranks at number 50 on the 75 Fastest Growing Companies of 2019 by the Washington Business Journal (WBJ). For the second consecutive year, Bizzell contested for a top spot among over 2,000 Washington, D.C.-based private companies.

 

On October 24, Bizzell President & CEO, Dr. Anton C. Bizzell, attended the award ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, where the firm was recognized for its rapid growth and a positive trajectory for success. “The Journal’s continued recognition of our commitment to healthcare, national security, and public service further accredits our expertise. Washington Business Journal Ranks Bizzell 10th!

Bizzell Named Fastest Growing Companies in America, Again

Lanham, MD – August 16, 2018 –Inc. Magazine announced The Bizzell Group (Bizzell) has been ranked as the 494th fastest growing company in America on Inc.’s 5000 list. Last year, Bizzell made their first appearance on the prestigious publication ranking 137th. In addition, they were recognized as the 3rd fastest growing black-owned small business in the nation and the 2nd  fastest growing small business in Maryland in 2017. It is uncommon for a company to rank twice on the 500 list in two consecutive years.
